POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE:  Sales Director – Wholesale B.C., Alta, Sask, Man.
REPORTS TO:  VP Sales – Plumbing Wholesale

COMPANY INFORMATION:

Foremost International is a successful nationally recognized manufacturer and distributor of branded products serving the home improvement and builder markets across Canada. We design and deliver plumbing products that are functional, affordable and continually improve water reduction, environmental sustainability and overall, a global consideration to the environment. Our customers range from mass-market retailers, small bath boutiques and large wholesale distributors.

We are in Mississauga, at an 83,000 sq. ft. office space and distribution centre, which services all of our national customer’s needs. We employ 40 people within departments of Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Customer Service, and Accounting, Shipping and Receiving.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Sales Director is responsible for executing the plumbing wholesale strategic direction, building sales and marketing programs that will support the direction set within the wholesale and bath boutique customer channel for Contrac and Avenue brands. The position will also be responsible for generating sales with existing accounts, to identify new account and other sales opportunities in Western Canada.

Must be sales oriented, organized, and possess the ability to work independently, efficiently, and to be pro‐active to promote sales. Additionally, the position will need to be creative to create sales incentive programs and communicate marketing needs internally respecting budgets and project timelines. They will also be responsible for strategic planning, sales growth, pricing strategy, profit growth, forecasting/inventory management, and problem resolution to meet the needs of the customer while achieving sales and profit goals for the company.

 

POSITION DETAILS:

      • Execute objectives as set in the MBO (Management by Objective).
      • Manage existing key accounts, including forecasting and budgeting.
      • Manage, liaise, and support outside Sales Agencies within the territory.
      • Expand sales opportunities with existing accounts. (i.e., listing new products, sales spiff programs etc)
      • Identify new selling opportunities within the specialty account sector.
      • Make direct sales calls on potential new customers.
      • Research the market, including comparative shopping to understand the competition.
      • Provide regular feedback and reports to management.
      • Prepare and conduct professional sales presentations.
      • Attend and participate in conferences and trade shows for maximum exposure of company products.
      • Stay informed of changes in the industry, including trends, new products, and changes in regulations
      • Troubleshoots issues to a successful resolution for the customer.
      • Identify new product opportunities and communicate to the product development team.
      • Make onsite visits for product inspection when required to communicate issues back to Quality
        Control and Product Development teams.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree from an accredited university in Business, Marketing,
        Communications, or a related field.
      • At least 5 years or more of related experience and/or training.
      • An experienced sales professional in the plumbing wholesale industry experience is essential.
      • An energetic, forward‐thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate
        professional image.
      • A combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted when competency in the role is
        demonstrated.
